Lightweight
Envirograte is made from a composite material which is considerably lighter than traditional concrete or metal materials. The weight falls within the limit for one-man handling.
Strong
The gratings are designed to take the weight of heavy goods vehicles and are suitable for use on all roads including those subject to heavy traffic.
Health & Safety
Stolen or missing manhole covers and gully gratings have become a major concern to councils in recent years, especially as the value of scrap metal has risen. Stolen covers can take many days or weeks to report and replace and in the meantime they pose a serious health and safety risk to pedestrians and cyclists - which means legal and financial implications for those responsible for maintaining the roads. Our composite covers provide a less attractive target for thieves and can be sealed in with silicon sealant to prevent theft or vandalism if required.
