Dri-Deck

PDS is sole distributor of a complete solution for the collection of water at sub-surface level, the Dri-deck. Dri-deck sub-surface drainage can be used in conjunction with the Envirodeck or Hydrodeck combined kerb drainage systems.

Why use Dri-Deck?

Combined kerb drainage systems can be effective in draining both surface water and sub-surface water.

However, the base thickness of the unit, the mortar bed, and any regulating course can raise the sub-surface collection holes above the deck level. To account for any water at this lower level it is sometimes desirable to have a secondary system.

The Dri-deck drainage unit provides this sub-surface collection.

The Dri-deck system

The Dri-deck system comprises of three stages:

  • High Strength Ductile Iron Channel
  • ABS Heat Resistant Outlet Fittings
  • Wide Range of Beneath Deck Pipes

The Dri-deck drainage channel

Dri-deck channel units come in one metre sections which have a number of slots along the length for high water collection. The channel units are manufactured in graphite iron which is extremely robust.

The Dri-deck channel provides continuous sub-surface water collection either along kerb lines or transversely along the deck. T-pieces, bends and cross sections allow a number of drainage designs.

Dri-deck outlet units

The channels feed the drained water into outlet units, which are made from a base and a cover.

The base unit is recessed to provide a seating for the cover unit, and has flared edges to provide a smooth join with the waterproof membrane layer of the bridge surface.

The covers are made from high strength thermoplastic material that is heat resistant and highly durable under pressure. Inlet holes at the top and bottom of the cover unit allow drainage from above and below the waterproof membrane.

Flexibility

A compatible system of pipework is available including a full range of pipe hangers, supports, and fittings to allow carrier pipes to cross expansion points.

PDS can also offer advice, designs and supply on carrier pipes beneath the deck in a wide range of materials including UPVC, Polyethylene and Cast Ductile Iron.

Health & Safety

Like our Enviro-range of products, Dri-deck unit weights are up to 50% lighter than other products on the market and fall within the new manual handling guidelines, avoiding workplace injuries. This also saves precious dead weight on both new and refurbishment structures.
