Nottingham had already considered using lightweight kerbs previously but had been disappointed in both appearance and the longevity of the tested products. Therefore when we approached Charles Cresswell at the Newark Depot we felt as though he was very open to the suggestion of incorporating Envirokerb 5x10 in some of his works, if we could meet his simple but obvious criteria. They had to have the appearance of Traditional Concrete kerbs, and they had to be at least as strong from impact as concrete.
